Nicki Minaj Talks About Postponing Rihanna 'Fly' Video

Published: Mar 24, 2011 by admin Filed under: News

Nicki Minaj may be on top right now but that doesn't mean the Pink Fridaystar won't share the spotlight. Her song "Fly," featuring Rihanna, was slated to be her next single, but now Minaj has decided to change course: Since her and the Loudsinger's albums were released within a week of each other, she wanted to let her collaborator's tracks breathe. So the "Fly" clip won't see the light of day until around Memorial Day, according to the Lil Wayne protégé.

"I'm gonna hold off on the Rihanna video and the Rihanna single for a little bit longer," she told MTV News. " 'Cause we both kind of dropped at the same time. So she has a lot of [songs] in rotation and I want to let her stuff have a moment and do its thing, dominate radio. [Instead], I wanted to come out with something more fun."Nicki is now set to deliver a visual to "Super Bass," a number included on the deluxe edition of her debut. She's currently performing the track during her set on Weezy's I Am Still Music Tour.

The song is certainly more uptempo than "Fly"; "Super Bass" was produced by Kane Beatz (Lil Wayne, Drake) and is more Katy Perry-ish than her ballad-leaning "Fly.""I'm taking it back to a few things that I've done, it's a lot more fun," Nicki said of the forthcoming "Super Bass" clip. "It will be my most fun video and my most carefree video, lots of eye candy and lots of beefcakes."

Lady Gaga To Direct 'Judas' Video

Published: Mar 24, 2011 by admin Filed under: News

As promised, Lady Gaga joined forces with Google on Tuesday to answer a string of fan-generated questions for an hour-long interview posted onYouTube called "Musicians@Google Presents: Google Goes Gaga."While the pop star dished on a range of topics, including her upcoming album, Born This Way, and aspiring-singers-turned-viral-YouTube stars (yes, she mentioned Rebecca Black), the most exciting news she shared with her fans was that she'll be directing the video for her next single, "Judas," alongside creative director Laurieann Gibson."I'm very excited.

Actually, I can exclusively reveal here at Google that I will be making my directorial debut with Laurieann Gibson, directing this video with her ourselves," the singer said to the cheers of the interview's live audience.Keeping in line with the song's title, Mother Monster also admitted that the clip will include religious imagery. "It's no surprise, I'm sure, to many of you, that Judas is a man of the biblical senses, so expect to see some symbolism in this video," she said.Gaga also gave fans a taste of the club track's lyrics by offering a few lines from the song.

"When he comes to me, I am ready/ I'll wash his feet with my hair if he needs/ Forgive him when his tongue lies through his brain/ Even after three times, he betrays me/ I'll bring him down, a king with no crown," she recited.Gaga explained that "Judas," which she produced along with RedOne, talks about confronting one's demons. "You have to look into what is haunting you and you need to look into forgiving yourself in order to move on," she said. "And it's really fun to dance to and sounds like it could be a pop priest record."She also described a track off her "avant-garde techno rock" LP called "Edge of Glory." Recalling the loss of her grandfather last year, Gaga revealed that she wrote the tune at an emotional moment at the piano while taking tequila shots with her father. "The song's about your last moment on Earth, the moment of truth. The edge of glory is that moment right before you leave the Earth," she said.

Chris Brown Flips Out After "GMA" Interview, Tired Of Dealing With Old Drama

Chris Brown  is tired of people asking about his violent outbursts. So he responded with a violent outburst.

While taping an interview with GMA's Robin before a live performance in the Time Square studio, Brown was repeatedly asked about the legal entanglements stemming from the February 2009 incident where he assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna.

Brown avoided the questions, and kept trying to bring the topic back to the new album he was there to promote: "F.A.M.E."

The 22-year-old singer finished the interview, performed, than reportedly flew into a rage in a GMA dressing room over the interview. According to ABC, he smashed a window (which sent shattered glass tumbling down on 43rd and Broadway), tore off his shirt, and stormed out.

Later, Brown Tweeted "I’m so over people bringing this past s**t up!!!”, but quickly deleted the post.

Brown recently caught flack for belittling the Rihanna incident by referring to it as a "mishap," and is still serving five years probation after pleading guilty to assault.

R.I.P Nate Dogg, A Tribute And Nate Dogg Video Playlist

Hip-hop legend Nathaniel Hale, a/k/a Nate Dogg, has passed away at the age of 41. The cause of death is still being investigated; he suffered a pair of strokes in recent years, reportedly paralyzing the left side of his body and severely impairing his speaking ability.

Hailing from Long Beach, California, Nate's work with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Warren G was a major step in the evolution of singing on rap records -- his breezily delivered ("tunefully murderous," as Robert Christgau put it) singsong rhymes were arguably as integral to classic hip-hop as the sax breaks were to Leiber & Stoller records. His greatest and most famous collaboration found him playing Greek chorus to Warren G's murder tale on the smash "Regulate"; he debuted on Dre's landmark The Chronic, though he's equally revered for his work on the far less famous Mista Grimm's deeply funky 1993 hit "Indo Smoke." His solo albums (including the strong, playful Music & Me) never achieved the success of his long array of hit collaborations (with 2Pac, Ludacris, Eminem, Fabolous, and countless others), but retained that collaborative spirit -- he'd often relegate himself to just the smoothly delivered hooks on his own tracks. The man knew his strengths and played them to the fullest. Translating that hedonism into extraordinarily catchy G-funk fatalism earned the ex-Marine four Grammy nominations through his career, and he enjoyed himself, too, best exemplified by his proud epigram on Dr. Dre hit "The Next Episode": "Smoke weed everyday." And "Can't Deny It" was the fucking jam. Here's that one, and quite a few others.
